This beautifully made music material<\/a> set of Nienhuis Montessori tone bars includes 25 tone bars made from wood and two mallets. The tone bars are used for playing and performing music and commonly applied for musical lessons focused on developing an understanding of the rules of notation in the most common scales used in Western culture.<\/p>\n

The 25 tone bars in this set produce the sounds of two octaves of the key of ‘c’ major plus the sharps and flats and can be presented in conjunction with the tone bar keyboards<\/a>, which are two colour coded keyboards upon which to arrange the tone bars.<\/p>\n

Learning about music is similar to learning a language<\/a> and is an indispensable part of the Montessori curriculum<\/a>. Music has its own sounds and symbols as well as its own precise terminology.<\/p>\n

In the elementary classroom, the child will have lessons on music terminology in addition to opportunities for musical expression.<\/p>\n
