Children will have fun learning to knit with the Filges wooden French\u00a0knitter<\/a>\u00a0with 6 hooks. Also known as a knitting helper or knitting nancy, spool knitting or knitting doll, French knitting is a most traditional children\u2019s pastime with good reason! This knitting helper is a simple Waldorf handicraft\u00a0tool to introduce French knitting crafts to children quickly and easily, and for even the youngest children to master the basic principles of knitting.<\/p>\n

A great gift for creative children who love crafts, the knitted braid can be used to create skipping ropes, bracelets, place mats, belts, wall decorations and belts. It can even be shaped into names for personalised accessories.<\/p>\n

Knitting is a highly tactile experience and a fun, creative Waldorf handwork activity. It is taught in Waldorf Schools worldwide from around the age of 6 and projects can range from beginner to advanced.<\/p>\n
