About Sarah’s Silks

Sarah’s Silks is a family-owned company based in the USA specialising in Waldorf-inspired, natural and sustainable toys to spark babies and children’s imagination. Their mission is to make sustainable, open-ended toys that teach our children to love and care for Mother Earth. The beautiful Sarah’s Silks playsilks, cotton play cloths, capes, fairy dresses, veils, wings, crowns, skirts, dresses, swords, shields, skytails and streamers are perfect for open-ended play, dress-up and dramatic play in Waldorf homes, childcare settings and Steiner schools.

All of Sarah’s Silks silk dress up costumes, silk toys, wooden toys and playsilks are made from high quality sustainable Chinese silk. Each silk product is woven, dyed and hand hemmed by seamstresses working from their home in a small village near Suzhou, China. They are then hand painted and hand finished at the Sarah’s Silks headquarters in Sonoma County, California, USA.

The Sarah’s Silks playsilks are also perfect for wrapping gifts, providing a lovely backdrop for nature and seasonal tables as decoration for birthday parties or applied in rhythmic classes.

Children love the vibrant, beautifully blended colours and soft, tactile feel of the playsilks, cotton play cloths and silk garments. They are made with non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes and natural fibres ranging from 100% real silk to 100% cotton and have passed strict American and European safety testing and are safe for use by children of all ages.
