The Sarah’s Silks wooden May day ring offers a simple and beautiful May day option for at school and at home! To celebrate<\/a> this special day, playsilks can be tied through the ring holes. The ring can be hung from a tree branch or used as a maypole: children can hold on to the ends of the playsilks and dance, sing and skip in a circle.<\/p>\n

A very important day in Waldorf education, May Day is a European festival of ancient origins marking the beginning of summer, usually celebrated on 1 May, around halfway between the Northern Hemisphere’s Spring equinox and June solstice. (source<\/a>)<\/p>\n

The may day ring is also perfect to create a cozy canopy over children’s beds with giant playsilks.<\/p>\n

The ring features 8 softly sanded holes of approximately a 1.3cm diameter. It measures 42 x 0.6cm and is thoughtfully made in California, USA from red Oak MDF safe for children.<\/p>\n
