The round weaving frame is a simple wooden round loom perfect for introducing children to the traditional and fun craft of weaving and is ideal for beginners learning to weave.

Weaving is a highly tactile experience and a fun, creative Waldorf handwork activity. It is taught in Rudolf Steiner Schools worldwide from around the age of 6 and projects can range from beginner to advanced.

The wooden hoop has 25 notches on which to wind wool, creating the warp. The set also includes cotton thread and a sewing needle with which to weave your wool to form the weft. Beautiful circular patterns can be produced with this round loom, allowing you to create lovely decorations, wall hangings and table mats.

The weaving frame or round loom is suitable from 5 years and up – it is of a high quality and sustainably made in Germany.

The craft of weaving has many benefits for children, including the development of fine motor dexterity, hand-eye coordination and the concentration and patience required for focused attention on a task. It enhances the ability to understand and follow processes and encourages problem solving skills in overcoming any mistakes.
