Cylinder block no. 2 – Gonzagarredi Montessori

The Gonzagarredi Montessori cylinder blocks is part of the sensorial range and introduces children to the first stage of visual discrimination of size. Cylinder block no. 2 contains cylinders progressing in diameter from thin to thick.

The cylinder block is finished with a satin smooth lacquer finish and has slightly rounded edges. Each knobbed cylinder is individually sanded and lacquered.

Gonzagarredi Montessori (GAM) defines itself as ‘the history of Montessori materials’ because it was in collaboration with this company that Maria Montessori produced her first wooden educational materials. The brand was founded in Italy in 1911 as ‘Ernesto Bassoli e Figli’, and afterwards “Società Anonima per il Materiale Montessori”, and is one of only three companies in the world that produce Montessori educational material with the supervision and certification of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), headquartered in Amsterdam.

Gonzagarredi produces children’s furniture and Montessori materials of the highest quality in natural wood and intentionally muted colours, all consistent with Maria Montessori’s guidelines and certified by AMI.

The Gonzagarredi Montessori cylinder block no. 2 is suitable for children aged 3-6 years.
