Tone bar / bell cabinet – Nienhuis Montessori

This beautiful Nienhuis Montessori wooden tone bar and bell cabinet is made in The Netherlands by hand and is used to present the music materials. The top shelf can hold either the complete bells set or the tone bars with the tone bars keyboards. On the bottom two shelves there is a perfectly measured space for other materials such as the bells keyboards, bells boards, music signs and notes, strip boards and accessories.

The cabinet measures 145 x 40 x 58.5/68cm, is adjustable in height and allows the child to be seated at and play the musical instruments directly.

Learning about music is similar to learning a language and is an indispensable part of the Montessori curriculum. Music has its own sounds and symbols as well as its own precise terminology. In the elementary classroom, the child will have lessons on music terminology in addition to opportunities for musical expression.

This material is suitable for children aged 9 years and up.
