Sandpaper numerals: US version – Nienhuis Montessori

The Nienhuis Montessori sandpaper numerals in US version is mathematics material and introduces the child to the symbols of 0-9 and their corresponding number names.

This set contains ten smooth wooden boards painted green with rough sandpaper numerals mounted on.

The sandpaper numerals guide the hand for writing as the child traces the number shapes in the style and direction in which they are written, which should be combined with hearing and pronouncing the sound and seeing the symbol. Each board has a space on the left and right for the child to hold it with one hand while tracing the number with the other.

A wooden box to store the numerals in is also sold separately.

This Montessori material is suitable for children aged 3-6 years.
