The large four elements building set is a Waldorf inspired handmade wooden creative toy from Grimm’s. It includes a wooden tray and 23 wooden blocks in various bright colours, representing the four elements earth, air, fire and water. The tray measures 44.5 x 44.5cm and the blocks are approximatively 4cm thick each.
The Grimm’s large four elements building set is made from lime wood and the blocks are painted in beautiful bright tones with non-toxic water based colour stain making it safe for use by (small) children. These distinctive building shapes create mountain ranges, swirling oceans, alien landscapes, winding highways, futuristic skylines, and a gallery of sculptures. Unlike traditional geometric blocks the four elements blocks are more like waves or organic forms. This set offers endless possibilities for creative play, making sculptures and refining fine motor skills and is also a beautiful decorative addition to any playroom, classroom or child’s room. The small four elements building set is also suited for use on a Waldorf nature or seasons table.
This set is also available in our webshop in a small version.
The Grimm’s large four elements building set is suitable for children aged 3 years and up.

About Grimm’s
Ideal for playing with at home, nursery, Waldorf or Steiner school, the beautiful natural wooden Grimm’s toys are crafted according to the Waldorf philosophy which is well-known to encourage children to discover creative play independently, without limitations at an unhurried pace. The wooden Grimm’s toys are coloured by hand with non-toxic water-based paints and are not finished with lacquer to ensure the original characteristics of the wood and the grain shows through. The surface of the FSC certified European wood pieces are left slightly rough making them fully stackable and less slippery.
Grimm’s handmade wooden toys are produced at the Grimm’s facilities in Germany as well as at several workshops across Europe from various types of wood such as alder, lime, beech and maple. All wood used to craft the Grimm’s toys are sourced from sustainably managed European forests.
Please note Grimm’s toys are always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain has changing structures and colours which serve as proof of its natural origins. The unique variations, markings, knots, patterns, black stripes or dark spots that may be visible in the wood of a Grimm’s toy are proof of quality, not defects.
