BAJO

Polish sustainable handmade wooden toys brand BAJO was founded in 1993 by Wojciech Bajor, a sculptor, architect and also a lecturer at the University of Cracow. Over the last 17 years the high-quality and eco friendly toy brand has created several hundred designs of wooden toys for children of different ages and offers a range of didactic and rehabilitation toys as well as furnishing elements for children’s rooms and kindergartens. All BAJO products are manufactured sustainably by hand in the south of Cracow, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountain range in Poland.

BAJO products have received numerous awards:

In 1994, the BAJO collection was awarded a gold medal at the Poznan Fair, and in 2000, BAJO received a prize for games and puzzles at the London Fair. In 2002, at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, BAJO was awarded the German Design Prize for Wooden Toys and in 2003 another company product was nominated for the same prize.

BAJO’s products all comply with the European EN71 safety criteria for wooden toys and only carefully selected materials of the highest quality from certified local suppliers are used. In total 14 different types of European wood and water based non-toxic paints complying with the ecological standard are used to make and finish the toys and furnishings by hand.
