Teia Education is a family run company selling and distributing educational products from prestigious brands Nienhuis Montessori, Gonzagerredi Montessori, Educo, Jegro and Arts & Crafts. The sole authorized distributor for Heutink International established on Swiss territory, we are located in the canton of Geneva, and sell our products online in our web shop and offline to preschools, primary schools, Montessori schools, playgroups, childcare centres, toy libraries and after school structures throughout Switzerland.
We are an official Swiss distributor for the Montessori-Pierson Publishing Company which publishes and distributes books and unpublished writings by Maria Montessori as well as translations thereof.
Teia Education is also a sales agent for the Spanish brand Grapat in Switzerland which open-ended wooden toys are entirely adapted to the Waldorf / Rudolf Steiner pedagogy.
With a background in and strong affinity with Montessori, we decided early on that we wanted to implement this coveted lifestyle in our household and provide our young children with the best Montessori materials possible, avoiding a world filled with overly colourful, gimmicky, noisy and mostly plastic toys. As finding AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) certified Montessori materials and open ended, preferably wooden educational toys was impossible in Switzerland we looked into buying those directly from the Netherlands. This became a costly process as we paid high cost for shipping and importation, plus the ever fluctuating euro vs swiss franc did not do us much favour either. We came to the realization that we must not be the only parents in Switzerland struggling with this dilemma. Thus the idea of creating Teia Education became our dream; a company with a web shop and collaboration with Heutink International to distribute their products within Switzerland, aiming to fill a gap in the Swiss market for the need of Montessori materials as well as high-quality and moreover durable educational materials for children.
Beside Nienhuis Montessori and Gonzagerredi Montessori, which AMI certified materials are meant to enhance a traditional Montessori education, we complemented our range with the educational materials from Educo and Jegro; brands focused on stimulating the growth and development of pre school and elementary aged children from 2 to 12 years. Arts & Crafts fulfils the need for safe and high-quality materials such as toxin free water based paint to equip tiny Picasso’s and a whole world of creative materials to satisfy the busy hands of crafty little bees. The entirely hand-crafted open-ended wooden toys from Grapat allow children to create their own games and imaginary worlds.
Our products are geared towards the needs and wishes of educators, parents and children, and can be used to support an unique and continuous learning model to be applied at school as well as at home. Developed by a team of educational specialists, the materials we offer are made to endure many years of continuous and robust use and are aimed at supporting play and development, whilst respecting internationally proven curricula and learning goals. And above all, our products meet the rigorous demands of various toy manufacturing safety regulations making them safe for use by small children.
