Educo Motor Play

The Educo motor play range of products encompasses the practising of every form of movement, which develops a sense of self and a self-concept in children. Through movements children will recognise their own body structure as well as develop their identity of gender.

The gross and fine motor skills are developed through play and can divided into movements that are coordinative challenging (for example hand-eye coordination) or are performed with the whole body.

The Educo motor development products focus on refining both gross and fine motor skills: fine motor skills are all about the coordination of small muscle movements mostly on body parts such as the fingers, usually in coordination with the eyes. The main goal is to prepare children for writing. Tying shoelaces, using scissors and completing a puzzle are activities which stimulate fine motor skills.

Gross motor skills are all about movements of the large muscle groups and whole body movement. The main goal for children is to move in a flexible way. Playing hide and seek, aiming for a goal and modelling clay are activities which stimulate the gross motor skills.
