The seven friends in bowls play set from Grimm’s is a classic toy that will stand the test of time! Offering endless play possibilities, this Waldorf inspired handmade wooden toy set is suited to even very young children. They will enjoy taking the seven friends out of their wooden bowls, turning the bowls over, stacking them on top of each other and putting the little friends back in the cups.
The friends and bowls progress with the child and at a later age they can be used for colour matching, small world play, for playing shop or serving little cups of tea.
Each of the seven friends have different skin tones and are made from different types of wood from trees indigenous to central Europe. They are hand-painted and reflect our wonderful diverse world as well as celebrating everyone’s uniqueness. The friends are gender neutral, have no specific facial expression and their simple appearance spurs on the child’s imagination instead of restricting it by offering too much detail.
In addition to sorting and colour matching, the seven friends in bowls can also be used as a weekly calendar in which each figure is assigned a day of the week. For each passing day, a friend is placed on his/her bowl until a week has passed and then all 7 friends jump back into their bowls, so that a new week can begin!
The seven friends and bowls are made from maple wood, beech wood, cherry wood or alder wood from sustainable forestry. The are finished by hand with non-toxic water based colour stain and non-toxic plant based oil finish. The circular tray on which the friends are presented has a diameter of 19cm, the friends are 6.5cm tall.
The Grimm’s seven friends in bowls play set is suitable for children aged 1 years and up.

About Grimm’s
Ideal for playing with at home, nursery, Waldorf or Steiner school, the beautiful natural wooden Grimm’s toys are crafted according to the Waldorf philosophy which is well-known to encourage children to discover creative play independently, without limitations at an unhurried pace. The wooden Grimm’s toys are coloured by hand with non-toxic water-based paints and are not finished with lacquer to ensure the original characteristics of the wood and the grain shows through. The surface of the FSC certified European wood pieces are left slightly rough making them fully stackable and less slippery.
Grimm’s handmade wooden toys are produced at the Grimm’s facilities in Germany as well as at several workshops across Europe from various types of wood such as alder, lime, beech and maple. All wood used to craft the Grimm’s toys are sourced from sustainably managed European forests.
Please note Grimm’s toys are always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain has changing structures and colours which serve as proof of its natural origins. The unique variations, markings, knots, patterns, black stripes or dark spots that may be visible in the wood of a Grimm’s toy are proof of quality, not defects.
