Inspired by the Waldorf Steiner pedagogy, the iconic large 12 pieces rainbow in variation forest green from the Grimm’s 2022 Greenopia collection is a handmade sustainable wooden stacking toy with a timeless appeal.
It contains 12 arches cut from a single block of wood by hand. The rainbow is made from lime wood and is painted in beautiful green tones with non-toxic water based colour stain making it safe for use by (small) children. This large sized rainbow measures approximately 35,5-36,5 cm (length) x 17-18 cm (height) and offers endless possibilities for creative play.
The predominantly darker colour harmonies of this rainbow take you into forests full of foliage and fir tree green. Delicate moss mingles with lush meadow green and the animals of the forest are gathering in bright clearings. Small experiential worlds are created, where little forest spirits, who are always getting up to some sort of mischief, live.
During the Christmas season, a wonderfully sustainable Christmas tree can be created, which in its dark fir dress can also be beautifully decorated with handicrafts, Christmas figures or small electric lights.
The Grimm’s 12 pieces large forest green rainbow is suitable for children aged 2 years and up.

About Grimm’s
Ideal for playing with at home, nursery, Waldorf or Steiner school, the beautiful natural wooden Grimm’s toys are crafted according to the Waldorf philosophy which is well-known to encourage children to discover creative play independently, without limitations at an unhurried pace. The wooden Grimm’s toys are coloured by hand with non-toxic water-based paints and are not finished with lacquer to ensure the original characteristics of the wood and the grain shows through. The surface of the FSC certified European wood pieces are left slightly rough making them fully stackable and less slippery.
Grimm’s handmade wooden toys are produced at the Grimm’s facilities in Germany as well as at several workshops across Europe from various types of wood such as alder, lime, beech and maple. All wood used to craft the Grimm’s toys are sourced from sustainably managed European forests.
Please note Grimm’s toys are always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain has changing structures and colours which serve as proof of its natural origins. The unique variations, markings, knots, patterns, black stripes or dark spots that may be visible in the wood of a Grimm’s toy are proof of quality, not defects.
