Chair U3: white – Nienhuis Montessori

The U3 chair in white from the Nienhuis Montessori infant & toddler furniture range is made to endure many years of repeated use! The design of this chair is focused on optimum comfort and posture.

Entirely made by hand from birch wood, this high-quality chair enhances any Montessori kindergarten, Nido, prepared environment or playroom at home.

Many of the same concepts used in designing furniture for the older child’s environment apply in an infant / toddler environment, however due to the size and developmental age of young children there are a number of important factors that must be considered. One of the key concepts in this environment is learning to be independent.

The frame and seat are made of solid beech wood and the back is formed of top quality beech plywood. The finishes are double-coated lacquer to facilitate cleaning and for long-term durability.

Rather than using the traditional ‘high’ furniture, which rely on adult intervention, Montessori furniture for babies and small children is lower in height and smaller in size.

The seat of the chair is 20cm high. This chair is suitable for the Montessori prepared environment for children aged 1 year and up and is made by GAM (Gonzagarredi Montessori) for Nienhuis in Italy.
