Abacus 5 x 20: pupils – Jegro
The Jegro abacus of 5 x 20 for pupils is made of wood and steel and contains in total one hundred beads with a diameter of one and a half centimetre in the colours yellow (x2), dark blue (x2), orange (x2), red (x2), white and green grouped in tens. The abacus represents units, tens, hundreds, thousands and ten thousands.
Working with the abacus allows the pupil to learn place value, addition and subtraction and visualise (large) numbers. The principle of ‘borrowing’ can be practised by doing so from the next column. The beads that are not used disappear behind the wooden partition.
This material is suitable for primary school children aged 6 years and up.
