Rachel William’s inspiring book slow down: bring calm to a busy world with 50 nature stories is just what children need today! This lovely book encourages a slower pace of childhood, observing all the magical transformations taking place in nature each day.
All around us, nature performs true miracles. Every day, hour by hour, transformations happen, new life emerges, seemingly impossible things happen or planets and tides move. Slow down features 50 nature stories helping children to spot the wonders of nature.
Often, in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we carelessly walk past these miracles in daily life. We take many things for granted, but we don’t know what exactly lies behind them. With the help of the 50 little stories in this book, children can pause and mindfully discover nature.
Each story tells a little episode from nature and the lives of animals and plants: how a starfish walks on the seabed, the mole digs its burrows, a duck teaches its offspring to swim, a rainbow or thunderstorm is formed, the tadpole becomes a frog, how the moon changes in the course of the month or how the dew collects on the leaves in the morning.
These are wonderful stories to share as a family and inspiring outdoor adventures of exploration and discovery in nature. And those who know about these wonders will protect them instead of carelessly destroying them.
Slow down is recommended for all children, especially those aged 5 – 8 years old. It is published by Magic Cat Publishing and contains lovely illustrations by Freya Hartas.
