Paint sticks set Rondo – Seccorell

The paint sticks set rondo from Seccorell in a box made of cardboard with a bottom insert in “cocoa-shell” covering paper made of cocoa bean shells featuring a beautiful illustration by Andrea Reiß. Rondo is a lovely set containing full sized Waldorf non-toxic smudge pastels to start exploring the Seccorell painting system!

This set includes 8 full sized non-toxic paint sticks in the basic colours, 1 cleaning brush with natural fibres, 1 eraser, 2 cotton pads and 1 rubbing block pastel grater. The box offers space for 24 colour sticks when the bottom insert is removed.

These unique Waldorf inspired blendable smudge pastels are used for creating dreamy artworks with a beautiful watercolour-like effect ranging from very delicate to intense colours.

A staple at Waldorf Steiner and primary schools, the sustainably produced Seccorell paint sticks are rubbed against the grater/rubbing block to produce paint powder. This powder is then brushed or rubbed completely onto painting paper or any natural surface with the fingertips. Wiping with a tissue will set the colours.

The shavings powder can be layered for colour blending and by wiping, circling and mixing, the various colour nuances, intensities and mixing ratios can be creatively worked out. The included eraser can be used for highlighting and the paint sticks can also be used like colouring pencils to define outlines.

Seccorell paint sticks are harmless to health and are very durable as they can be used up to the last bit. They consist of bound mineral pigment which easily can be removed by washing hands with soap and water.

Seccorell is a brand by the family run company MeiArt, and proposes a unique painting system and a new way of working with colour and its possible uses. Their paint sticks are non-toxic and entirely made in Germany. Closing a gap between the watercolour and the pastel technique, these innovative smudge pastels do not require water nor a fixative to paint like watercolours and achieve a smudge resistance that otherwise only crayon paintings have.
