A set of the famous Grimm’s rainbow friends, revisited as a new 2021 version, containing 12 handmade sustainable wooden peg dolls. The rainbow friends set is painted in beautiful bright rainbow colours with non-toxic water based colour stain making it safe for use by (small) children. The Grimm’s rainbow friends measure approximately 6.5cm each with a diameter of 3cm and offer endless possibilities for creative play!
Through their different colours and different types of wood, the rainbow friends reflect our wonderful diverse world as well as celebrating everyone’s uniqueness. Each one of these little hand-painted wooden figures has a different look and individual wood grain. These happy little wooden figures, made from different types of wood from trees indigenous to central Europe, are gender neutral. With no specific facial expression, they can be either sad or happy. With their simple appearance they spur on the child’s imagination instead of restricting it by offering too much detail.
The rainbow friends peg dolls complement the entire range of Grimm’s toys and they can also represent a perpetual calendar of the 12 months in the Grimm’s annual ring or the rainbow ring. The rainbow friends are also suited for use on a Waldorf nature or seasons table.
The Grimm’s rainbow friends are suitable for children aged 1 year and up.

About Grimm’s
Ideal for playing with at home, nursery, Waldorf or Steiner school, the beautiful natural wooden Grimm’s toys are crafted according to the Waldorf philosophy which is well-known to encourage children to discover creative play independently, without limitations at an unhurried pace. The wooden Grimm’s toys are coloured by hand with non-toxic water-based paints and are not finished with lacquer to ensure the original characteristics of the wood and the grain shows through. The surface of the FSC certified European wood pieces are left slightly rough making them fully stackable and less slippery.
Grimm’s handmade wooden toys are produced at the Grimm’s facilities in Germany as well as at several workshops across Europe from various types of wood such as alder, lime, beech and maple. All wood used to craft the Grimm’s toys are sourced from sustainably managed European forests.
Please note Grimm’s toys are always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain has changing structures and colours which serve as proof of its natural origins. The unique variations, markings, knots, patterns, black stripes or dark spots that may be visible in the wood of a Grimm’s toy are proof of quality, not defects.
