This beautifully made wooden mathematical educational game fractions of a whole from Erzi is a great way to help children understand fractions through visual and hands-on learning!
Constructed from solid beech, this unique system is designed to teach children the various parts that make up a whole number. While playing with the three-dimensional shapes, children learn to distinguish the individual components of each whole shape such as halves, quarters and eighths and how to express fractions.
Each wooden shape has its own space on the board. To form a cube from four quarters, for example, the child works through the problem by removing each quarter from its tray and placing it in the appropriate spot.
This direct method of learning through play with the wooden fractions of a whole educational game gives children an excellent understanding of fractions and basic maths and is recommended for children aged three years up.
Contents:
19 parts (4 base plates with hollows for cubes and quads)
1 large cube to form a whole, 2 halves, 4 quarters and 8 eighths
