The Nienhuis Montessori cubing material is used to construct cubes and for the child to discover relationships between their component parts. The cubing material corresponds in length and colour to the coloured counting bars.
Working with this mathematical material prepares the child for abstract analysis of the binomial and trinomial cubes along with cube roots.
The set is entirely made of wood, lacquered in various colours and consists of 1 cube and 27 squares for each of the numbers from 1–9 and includes a beechwood tray with lid for storage.
This Montessori material is suitable for children aged 9 years and up.

- All lacquer and paint is controlled immediately after it has been received. Every delivery is tested by a certified testing device.
- A repeatable procedure is applied during the design of each single product, avoiding overlooking safety issues with regard to the product material, design, and technology needed.
- A physical safety test is done for the first batch of each new product. If any material is improved products are re-certified to meet all safety and quality standards.
