Froebel Gabe / Gift 2 – SINA Spielzeug

The basis for all further playing gifts from the original wooden Froebel Gaben series, the SINA Spielzeug Gabe 2 with the difference of its features was coined the “children’s delight” by Friedrich Froebel. It consists of wooden solids of a sphere, cylinder and cube.

Invite your child to touch, feel, smell, hold and examine each solid, starting with the sphere, followed by the cylinder, and finally the cube. Key exploration of Gabe 2 is handling, observing and comparing each piece’s different shape.

One set of the wooden solids have eyes for hanging the solids: the cube has three holes – each through a surface axis, corner axis and edge axis. The second set of solids is used for comparison. The wooden box containing this gift is used in conjunction with the stick for turning the suspended solids around the axes, 1 frame for assembling and 6 strings for hanging the solids on the frame.

Play with Gabe 2 lays an early foundation of basic science and encourages the child to describe findings through imaginative play. This educational toy is suited for children aged 3 years and up and develops fine motor skills and helps them to distinguish geometric shapes, interconnectedness of forms and objects and physics concepts.
