A beautiful Waldorf inspired natural silk playsilk in the vibrant colour sunshine from Sarah’s Silks. Measuring 90 x 90 centimetres, the playsilk is made from 100% fairly traded silk, hemmed by hand and dyed with non-toxic, eco-friendly dye.

The quintessential fabric toy for the world of Waldorf fantasy and imaginative play, the playsilk can be used for dress up to make a cape, skirt or wings, folded into a dolls sling, be tied onto a makeshift pole to wave as a flag, draped over chairs to build a tent or fort with, adorn a doll house as a rug or blanket or to play peek-a-boo with. Laid on the floor, a playsilk can be turned into green for grass, red for lava, yellow for sand or blue as a lake or sea to sail a boat on. All of Sarah’s Silks silk dress up costumes, toys and playsilks are made from high quality sustainable Chinese silk. Each silk product is woven, dyed and hand hemmed by seamstresses working from their home in a small village near Suzhou, China. They are then hand painted and hand finished in Sonoma County, California, USA.

Children love the vibrant, beautifully blended colours and soft, tactile feel of the playsilks, cotton play cloths and capes. They are made with non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes and natural fibres ranging from 100% real silk to 100% cotton and have passed strict American and European safety testing and are safe for use by children of all ages.
