The Nienhuis Montessori botany cabinet is part of the Montessori biology materials and consists of a wooden cabinet with three drawers, in which there are eighteen leaf forms insets and frames.
The purpose of working with this material is to deepen the child’s interest in nature, to promote the perception and to expand vocabulary with regard to the names of the different leaf forms.
By working with the botany cabinet, the child learns the shapes and names of leaves by tracing their borders and matching them to those in the natural environment.
This Montessori material is suitable for children aged 5 years and up.
