Introducing the concept of surface or plane as a separate object, the SINA Spielzeug original Gabe 7-1 from the Friedrich Froebel series of playing gifts represents wooden parquetry tablets which are derived from the surfaces of the first six Gaben.
Signifying a move from the solid three-dimensional to flat surface, Gaben 7-1 to 7-3 allow the child to represent these objects in two-dimensional form. These Gaben provide an important developmental step and a shift from concrete to abstract comprehension gradually through play.
This educational toy is suited for children aged 6 years and up and contains laying material in the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet – with in total 72 pieces of each of the shapes square, equilateral triangle, right-angled isosceles triangle and diamond.
The variety of shapes and angles of this Gabe encourages expression of geometry develops mathematical skills and concepts such as fractions, symmetry, opposites and proportion. The parquetry tablet shapes can also be combined to form a variety of geometric shapes.
The SINA Spielzeug Gabe 7-1 is suitable for children aged 6 years and up.
