Globe of the continents: coloured – Nienhuis Montessori

The coloured Nienhuis Montessori coloured globe of the continents is preceded by the sandpaper globe of land and water and allows the child to understand the concept of continents and helps to start building their knowledge of the worlds geography.

Exploring the globe and reviewing the continents leads to naming each, which in turn leads to working with the puzzle maps. Each continent of the globe has its own colour, corresponding with those on the world parts puzzle map.

The coloured globe is hand-painted and placed on a wooden base which allows the globe to rotate and holds the globe at a 23° angle, the same as the earth’s axis in relation to the sun.

The coloured globe of the continents is suitable for children aged 4 years and up.
