Land and water form trays: set 1 – Nienhuis Montessori

The Nienhuis Montessori land and water form trays (set 1) are a geography material used for the child to learn the names of the worlds different land forms and water forms. By pouring blue water into each tray a visualisation of where the land and water meet, and how the forms are different becomes apparent.

Working with the Montessori land and water form trays provides a sensorial experience to young learners whilst learning about how land formations are raised and water formations sunken in the earth.  

Set 1 features 6 tan trays measuring 20 x 20 x 4cm each with the complementary land and water forms:

• Lake
• Island
• Gulf
• Peninsula
• Strait
• Isthmus

This material is suitable for children aged 4 years and up.
