Stamp game – Nienhuis Montessori

After being introduced to the decimal system using the Nienhuis Montessori golden bead mathematical material for early childhood, the stamp game provides opportunity for individual practice by the child in the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. In a step towards abstraction, the quantity and symbols of the decimal system are combined and are represented by each ‘stamp’.

In a prepared Montessori environment the stamp game is usually introduced by linking the golden bead material so the child can make a connection and materialise the values of the cube, square, bar and bead.

This set contains “stamps” or tiles for units, tens, hundreds and thousands in green, blue and red, chips in corresponding colours and two types of skittles.

This Montessori material is suitable for children aged 6 years and up.
