Moving from the concept of surface or plane as a separate object to the line, the SINA Spielzeug original Gabe 8-3 from the Friedrich Froebel series of playing gifts represents the edges or outlines of the objects from Gaben 1 to 6. Gaben 8-1 to 8-3 contain straight lines or sticks in various lengths and allow the child to represent these objects in two-dimensional form. These Gaben provide an important developmental step and a shift from concrete to abstract comprehension gradually through play.
This educational toy is suited for children aged 6 years and up and contains laying material in the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet – with in total 120 pieces of thin wooden splints in the length of 250 x 10 x 1mm. This Gabe encourages expression of geometry and develops mathematical skills and concepts such as symmetry, one-to-one correspondence, arithmetic and proportion. The splints can also be combined to form a variety of geometric shapes.
All SINA Spielzeug toys are designed and made by hand in the company’s own workshop in Neuhausen/Erzgebirge, Germany.
