Smooth gradation board – Nienhuis Montessori

The Nienhuis Montessori smooth gradation board is part of the haptic sense of the sensorial Montessori materials. It allows the child to explore their sense of touch, and feeling the difference between textures.

The board is part of the introductory materials for the development of the tactile sense and prepares the child’s hand for writing.

The smooth gradation board has five different gradations of texture and introduces the contrast of smooth to smoothest. It is made of smooth wood with sandpaper strips mounted on.
