Cylinder block no. 1 – Nienhuis Montessori

Enticing the young child, the Nienhuis Montessori cylinder blocks may be the first encounter with material from the sensorial area – cylinder block no. 1 contains cylinders progressing in height and diameter from small to large.

A total of four cylinder blocks make up the series and each block made of solid beechwood contains ten cylinders of different sizes with knobs. The cylinder blocks introduce children to the first stage of visual discrimination of size.

The block is finished with a satin smooth lacquer finish and has slightly rounded edges. Each knobbed cylinder is individually sanded and lacquered.
