Storytelling theatre (Kamishibai) – Educo
The charming Educo table top storytelling theatre made of wood is ideal for bringing stories and lessons to life. The foldable theatre is also known as a Kamishibai; the ancient Japanese storytelling tool found at schools and nursing homes as well as libraries. Kamishibai, for kami, meaning paper and shibai, meaning play or theatre, engage audiences, and elicit their reactions and answers.
The arch of the Educo storytelling theatre acts like a picture frame which draws in the focused attention of children. This creative teaching tool can be used with the story sheets (sold separately) to visually support storytelling. It can also serve as a puppet theatre with hand and finger puppets, to hang sketches and pictures in, or as a whiteboard. Storytelling helps to develop young children’s language skills and enriches their vocabulary.
This material is suitable for children aged 2 years and up.
